Wikipedia says « When life gives you lemons, make lemonade is a proverbial phrase used to encourage optimism and a positive can-do attitude in the face of adversity or misfortune. Lemons suggest sourness or difficulty in life; making lemonade is turning them into something positive or desirable. »
How do you make lemonade anyway? You take the juice from those sour lemons and dilute it with plenty of water. Then you add as much sugar as needed to make it palatable. Now, you have a diluted, sugarcoated easy to swallow drink! Makes life perfect, doesn’t it?
Well, not so much. It only covers up what is not easy to swallow. In life, we do that a lot.
How many times has someone asked you ‘How are you?’ only to walk away before you even have time to answer. Or we prefer to answer quickly ‘I’m great’ just because it what expected.
We struggle, yet we keep it to ourselves, not even sharing it with our best friends and family members.
How can we heal if we do not put light on what is difficult?
We hide what is because we want to appear strong or we don’t want to burden someone. We hide it because no one would believe us anyway.
Well, the time is right to be truthful. Even though my truth might bother some people, it is still my truth.
I will shine light on the difficult aspect of life just so I can see it better for what it is. Then, i will feel in a better position to deal with it. And the healing can begin.
The truth will shock some and it will anger other. But I will not sugarcoat it or dilute anymore.
I do not care about those that cannot or won’t see my truth.
I am not looking to prove anything to them.
My truth will be out in the open and I will heal.
My truth will be out in the open and I will heal.
